Mutual Evaluation Committee

APG Mutual Evaluation Committee Terms Of Refernce

The APG’s Terms of Reference allow for the creation of Committees and Working Groups to progress the APG’s work between meetings. In 2013, APG members established the Mutual Evaluation Working Group, which was renamed the Mutual Evaluation Committee (MEC) in 2017.

Purpose

The MEC oversees and supports APG’s mutual evaluation program under the MEC Terms of Reference. It coordinates ME and followup work, reviews reports, supports training and addresses methodological consistency. The MEC meets several times annually, including once in person at the APG Annual Meeting.

Membership

Participation in the ME Committee is open to all APG members, associate members, observer jurisdictions and observer organisations. Delegates are ideally expected to have experience in conducting mutual evaluations, reviewing follow‑up reports, and/or completing assessor training under the FATF’s 2013 assessment methodology.

There is no limit on the number of participants from each sub‑region. All members and observers are strongly encouraged to attend the Committee’s in‑person meeting held immediately prior to the APG Annual Meeting, as well as the virtual meetings convened throughout the year.

ME Committee Co-Chairs

The ME Committee co-chairs (effective 2025) are New Zealand and Brunei Darussalam.
